Communities: Shepherding Areas at Redeemer

Redeemer's Elders utilize a model of shepherding which seeks to mobilize the priesthood of  believers, valuing and recognizing that we each are image bearers made to live in step with the Spirit.  Redeemer considers herself a large congregation made of members located in multiple geographic 'Communities' throughout the greater Winston Salem area.  These natural geographies are used as the framework upon which we shepherd members, regular attenders, visitors and neighbors by the power of the Spirit.

Everyone at Redeemer lives within a geographic area...
And as the residents of an area begin to care for one another....
They embark on the journey of becoming a "Community."

Communities by definition have a recognized and trained leadership structure (dedicated elders, deacons, and at least one trained community coordinator) responsible for helping to cultivate authentic living and care within the people of that area in light of our Kingdom mandate to love God and love one another.   Community Coordinators work alongside Redeemer's Mobilization Director to identify and encourage households according to the Spirit's leading in light of their strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in the region.  Alongside one another a ministry of soul care & physical encouragement can take place in a manner that is organic and life giving. Ephesians chapter 4 verses 1-16 remind us of how He has fashioned us for this purpose.
